Mary Carroll, Chief Executive Officer

Mary Carroll, as CEO, is responsible for the overall management of Capricorn Enterprise operations including marketing, economic development, event support and visitor servicing. Mary brings a combination of destination marketing, membership, corporate governance and strong relationship building skills to the organisation and has been recognised by industry with numerous awards and accolades for her contributions including Outstanding Contribution by an Individual at the 2007 CQ Southern Great Barrier Reef Tourism and Business Awards.  Mary has extensive networks with business and industry leaders, government officials and elected Members of Parliament.  Her career has included a broad range of private and public sector roles, having worked for hospitality and tourism businesses and organisations, a mining engineering firm, a union and a political party. 

Frank Edwards, Industry Engagement Manager

Frank is responsible for building strong partnerships between Capricorn Enterprise and its industry and government stakeholders through engagement, innovation, industry training and facilitation of infrastructure and business investment initiatives. During his career, Frank has undertaken a range of senior engineering and leadership roles spanning research and development, major projects, consulting and academia. In these roles he has developed innovative projects and businesses across the communications, energy and education sectors. Frank maintains his status as a professional engineer (CPEng) and is interested in engineering education and professional development where he actively contributes to research projects, conferences, and journals. Frank holds Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering Science and Master of Business Administration qualifications.

Krista Brown, Tourism and Marketing Manager

(5 DAYS PER WEEK - school hours) Krista has been significantly involved with tourism in the Capricorn region for approximately 20 years and for more than 10 years has been a key part of Capricorn Enterprise. First joining CE in 2010, Krista now works in a part-time capacity (after some time at home with her young family). She is responsible for managing key tourism projects, supporting and advising the Destination Marketing Team and managing the company's brand, and advertising collateral. Krista has also been a key contributor in ensuring the initial success of the Southern Great Barrier Reef brand - especially in the New Zealand market, having significantly represented the wider Southern Great Barrier Reef region in both Australia and New Zealand. Having grown up in a family that loved to travel, Krista knew at the age of 15 that Tourism was the industry she wanted to pursue. She said it was a natural transition. Krista has achieved a Bachelor of Tourism from CQUniversity, Certificate IV Graphic Design, Certificate III Interpretive Tourism.

Alyssah Anderson, Marketing and Communications Officer

(5 DAYS PER WEEK - school hours) Driven by a passion for the region, Alyssah commenced with Capricorn Enterprise in June 2019. After a successful and extensive career in marketing, public relations, events and fundraising for key not-for-profit health and community service organisations across Queensland, she is thrilled to join the team providing support through her storytelling and relationship building skills that will enhance the profile of our exciting destination. Taking on a part time role with Capricorn Enterprise, when not working, you will find Alyssah exploring every opportunity to experience the best our region has to offer.

Carmel Humphries, Economic Development Project Officer

(4 DAYS PER WEEK) Carmel is responsible for updating statistics about the Capricorn Region and analysing data to provide a better picture of how our region is developing.  Carmel taught Japanese in many schools across the region before undertaking a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Graduate Diploma of Urban and Regional Planning.  While working for the state government in Planning and then the Office of Economic and Statistical Research, she was involved in the development of regional plans and council planning schemes, and data provision,  statistical research and presentations that provide valuable skills to the Capricorn Enterprise team.

Lyn Pascoe, Accounts

New to the team and region. Lyn comes to us from a Hospitality background. Her role is to keep up with all the Bookkeeping, Accounts and the everyday running of the Office. When not at work, you can find Lyn on the beautiful Yeppoon Golf Course or somewhere out and about exploring our beautiful region.

Sarah Lawrence, Visitor Information Centre Supervisor

(PART TIME) Having grown up on the Capricorn Coast, Sarah is passionate about the region and is motivated to show visitors what the Capricorn Region has to offer. Taking on the part time role in January 2022, she is responsible for managing our band of volunteers, maintaining accreditation and is often the first point of contact for visitors into the Capricorn coast. Sarah has a history in sports management and member production and is excited to build a strong team of volunteers and members to promote the best of our region to visitors of the Capricorn Coast.
