INNOVATION CENTRAL IS HERE!

Innovation – Interaction – Imagination…….

Capricorn Enterprise in partnership with CQUniversity in October last year, hosted our inaugural Capricorn Innovation Leadership Forum, which showcased local examples of business innovation.

An Innovation Accord was signed by industry, government and organisation representatives to commit to being Australia’s first “Region of Innovation”. Activities since that time have included a number of innovative research projects with business and industry, with the support of the Federal government’s Innovative Regions Centre facilitator Ian Ogden (Enterprise Connect Division, Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research).

Tomorrow we officially launch the next step in our Innovation journey:

The “Innovation Central” concept will involve a process and a physical space at the CQUniversity which will allow people with innovative ideas, a place to gain assistance from valuable government and university resources in making their ideas become a reality.

Chairman of Capricorn Enterprise, Grant Cassidy said “sometimes people and small businesses have great innovative ideas, but need the help to navigate research and put into practice a commercial activity. Capricorn Enterprise is proud to work with our partners in government, industry and the CQUniversity to assist businesses reach their full potential.”

CEO of Capricorn Enterprise Mary Carroll said “there is potential for significant investment in innovation in our region – to build on the efforts already made since the formation of Capricorn Enterprise. This is another example of what can be achieved when all parties work together for the benefit of our great region.”

The launch will be held on Wednesday 7th December 2011 at the Criterion Hotel from 7.30am to 9am
